Fluid Symphony is a semi-abstract landscape exploring water, movement and sound. The painting celebrates the fluidity, grace and transformative qualities of water, creating an imagined aquatic landscape in which cascading forms, pools and currents appear to move continuously across the canvas.
Sweeping blues, turquoise, white and black create areas that suggest rushing water, waterfalls, rock formations and deep pools, while flashes of green and yellow interrupt the cooler palette. At the centre, the converging currents erupt in a powerful crescendo of movement and energy, as though the water has reached the dramatic climax of its own fluid symphony.
The title Fluid Symphony reflects the relationship between movement and music within the painting. The changing rhythms of the water — from gentle trickles to turbulent falls and splashes — become a visual composition, inviting the viewer to imagine the sounds accompanying the landscape and experience the work as both energetic and contemplative.

My Process
Fluid Symphony was painted in acrylic on canvas using multiple layers of paint rather than added textural mediums. I built the landscape gradually, layering different colour tones on top of each other.
Sweeping brushstrokes, softer blended areas and sharper highlights were used to suggest the changing rhythm of the currents—from gentle flowing passages to more turbulent surges. The darker rocks provide contrast and help direct the eye towards the centre of the composition.
Unlike my later mixed-media paintings, this earlier painting does not have a textured surface. The sense of texture is created entirely through layering, tonal contrast, brushwork and the movement of the acrylic paint.
